that being said, once a country decides that it is time to build a space station instead of paying for a ride on someone else's rockets...it means that they have something they want to get into space without anyone else knowing what it is...

I think this is an important step for a multitude of reasons...

1st...the human race needs this, no matter who it is that gets there.
and 2nd...another "Space Race" will only help drive the US to do what it should have done years ago...

I just don't understand why the US and Russia (among others) don't just expand the lessons learned while working together on the International Space Station into moon colonization...through in China, England, Japan and India and we may be able to get there in 10 years instead of 20

they have a relatively large range of distances. Somewhere between 250 and 1000 light years away...

I really don't understand the science behind this issue....thousands of hours of research following Columbia and they still can't keep this from happening...those thousands of hours don't include the original research in the design phase of the shuttles.

Lets see how the repair procedures go...

Astronaut tosses station's space junk

A spacewalking astronaut tossed two large chunks of junk off the international space station Monday

One item was a 1400 lb. amonia tank and the other a 200 lb. camera mount...

In about 10-11 months they should re enter the atmosphere.

I read elsewhere that they don't know where the debris will come down.
