Aztec pyramid ruins found in Mexico City

Pretty cool stuff...

Construction workers found the ruins of an Aztec city that was razed by the Spanish Conquistador Hernan Cortes in the 16th century.

The ruins are under Iztapalapa...a crime infested neighborhood in Mexico City.

Very cool.

A side thought...I can see the city government using the find and subsequent exploration of the complex as an "Opportunity" to demolition parts of the neighborhood. Not only to explore the site but to remove crime elements from the city...or at least shift them elsewhere.
