Karl Rove to quit this month

Lightning rod and President Bush's closest aide has decided to resign his post at the end of August.

In response to comments that he was leaving to avoid scrutiny by the Democrats he was quoted as saying "I'm not going to stay or leave based on whether it pleases the mob."

I'm not too sure I believe that...
