Lester to start for Red Sox on Monday

While I am a Yankee fan and the Yanks are in desperate need of a few wins and corresponding losses by the Red Sox, tomorrow may be a day that I root for the Sox.

I know...I know...many of you may find this hard to believe, but this is a "Feel Good Story" and the lord knows I want to feel good.

Jon Lester is set to return to the mound for the Red Sox on Monday, nearly a year after his rookie season was cut short when he was diagnosed with cancer.

update 9:35pm 7/23
Lester just left the game after 6 innings (Sox leading 5-2) stats:
2 ER, 6k, 1hr and 96 pitches...great job.

Nice way to start the day, Pete. It is a feel good story, and thank goodness you put it up for us to read. I would love to see this kid succeed big time.

Pete,

You're getting too soft on me here. But I guess I should encourage such things...so how about we root for Lester to do well and the Sox still lose?

hahaha!

The Red Sox are playing the Indians...so wecan root for the Sox for one night and one night only...either way...one of two teams that are ahead of the Yankees have to lose...

What makes people act the way they do?

With all the recalls associated with Chinese products, do you look at the label now to see where a product is made?

NEW POLL: What percentage of baseball players were taking steriods, HGH or other enhancing drugs (like amphetamines) before the rules changes instituted by MLB?

Which would you prefer?

You're at the Final table of the WSOP. You get dealt 2 Aces. What do you do?
